A FRESSON PRINT SIGNED THIBAUD YEVNINE, A MASTERPIECE!

The charcoal paper is no longer on the market today, and this has been the case for many years but in France you can find a workshop where Michel and Jean-François Fresson handle direct charcoal process. They are the grandson and great-grandson of the inventor Theodore Henri Fresson. They carry out world-wide famous work, for the museums, national archives, collectors and some photographers.
Thibaud Yevnine asked the Fresson family to print one of his picture taken in Mozambique and the result is absolutely stunning!

Check out this video to better understand the Fresson process. (French only!)

A 1965 vintage print, most certainly one of the rarest photograph by legendary Harold Feinstein!

This photograph was made and printed by Harold Feinstein himself on the famous Agfa Portriga paper. This print is simply outstanding and reveals once more how Harold Feinstein loved playing with negatives and montages, unless there were more than 2 people in the room then!!

Thomas Paquet experiments once again and delivers a photograph like you have never seen before!

Thomas Paquet is known for constantly researching new ways of writing with light. More often than not, he turns to traditional techniques of photography to express his contemporary vision. This artwork is a direct result of this approach: using a stunning blue-tinted glass, he made an ambrotype (collodion positive) to capture the sun. And the photograph became a sculpture!

Check out this video to understand better Thomas Paquet’s work.

Sabine Mirlesse’s quest for light takes an improbable turn with this outstanding engraved marble stone!

As a reflection on Dante’s Divine Comedy from which she gets her inspiration, Sabine Mirlesse invites us to journey through her series Pietra di Luce, drawing from the heart of the Earth the matter that will transport us beyond the firmament. In the manner of the quarrymen, the artist extracts from the bowels of the mountain a collection of photographs, drawings, oil monotypes, embossings, reliefs, photograms, and stone sculptures as reflections on the possibility of stars living inside the Earth. Pure poetry!

A rare and unusual photograph signed Renato D’Agostin: a museum-grade artwork!

This print is unique on many levels. First of all, Renato D’Agostin is well-known for his contrasty black and white photographs, it is thus a surprise to see a color print signed by the Italian artist. Secondly, this photograph, dating back from his American period when he used to live in New York City, long before he moved back to Italy, is the only one of its kind. And thirdly, this print, made especially for the gallery, reveals the artist’s interest for abstraction, which he will later confirm, especially in his latest series, Harmony of Chaos.

With this “painted” photograph Vittoria Gerardi offers a delicate and powerful work that challenges the very nature of photography!

Vittoria Gerardi always manages to arouse our curiosity and interest. The Pompeii series, being based on suggestion rather than on simple demonstration, reveals both the beauty of the ancient city and the artist's poetic vision. The sharpness is blurred, the reality is veiled, the monochrome is further reduced. In her creations, she uses a process of revelation that involves a paradoxical act of dissimulation. Prodigious!

This photograph was veiled with plaster live at the gallery during the exhibition in September 2019!
