Franco Vaccari, “Esposizioni in Tempo Reale”

"Another aspect of the game against the camera is the disappearance of the photographer, or rather the disappearance of the photographer's creative act. In 1972, the Italian artist Franco Vaccari (born in 1936) occupied one of the halls of the Venice Biennale with a photo booth and the injunction "Leave a trace of your passage on the walls", and then left: during the Biennale, the walls were covered with a few thousand images, which he would later collect. The artist is then simply the one who sets up the process, a Duchampian approach applied for the first time to photography. This monograph also presents his other experiments, all of which question the role of the photographer and of photography," says Marc Lenot.

L’artiste est alors simplement celui qui met en place le processus, une démarche duchampienne appliquée pour la première fois à la photographie.
